DESCRIPTION:
Aarcomm Systems is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join our team in Coquitlam, BC. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized, enthusiastic, and has a do-what-it-takes attitude. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring that all necessary raw materials are received on time so that our production is un-interrupted. You will be establishing and nurturing strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Purchasing functions which include order entry into ERP system, order management, expediting, and following-up.
Follow up with vendors and suppliers on existing orders to guarantee on time delivery
Build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
Negotiate pricing and terms
Ensure consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production.
Search for alternate sources and suppliers
Shipping and receiving
QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position.
Supply Chain certification, APICS, Operations or other related certification is an asset
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Post-secondary technical diploma or equivalent education and experience
Customer-centric mindset, do-what-it-takes approach
Strong organizational skills and the desire and ability to learn new things
Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment that is focused on priorities and end results
